Based on the popular manga of the same name, Noriben tells the story of 31-year-old Nagai Komaki who divorces her aspiring yet failing novelist husband and moves back to her hometown with her young daughter, Non-chan. Upon returning home, Komaki finds it difficult to make a living with a lack of qualifications and experience as well as managing the hardships of being a single mother. But after an appetizing revelation, she decides to pursue opening her own bento shop. An old childhood flame, persistent ex-husband, and a reluctant culinary mentor begin to complicate matters, clouding Komaki's dreams of independence and financial stability. Packed with delicious visual imagery, this film is sure to please the senses. -- Bryant Murakami

Great acting by "Konitan" (Manami Konishi). Light and predictable plot. This movie is not a foodie movie. (Just to warn you guys)
