3.5 stars This is a difficult movie to rate and review. You have to like Japanese gore genre to enjoy this film. I appreciated the effort in some of the creative ways gore is used.

Although in HD the picture was viewed widescreen in 4:3 format so used up only half the screen, the blacks were washed out and the reds were over saturated. The 1st 3rd of movie show promised but then the movie just became a cliche and sometimes would have long over drawn scenes. It seemed like a long homage movie as describe by Anderson Le's synopsis. Nothing new here.
