DANCE OF THE DRAGON
John Radel, Max Mannix 2008 | Asian Showcase
I saw this movie on Sunday and, while I enjoyed Jason Scott Lee's performances, was very disappointed with it over all. It was slow, lacked a coherent and believable story line, had a overly romantic and dramatic score. The characters were poorly developed. The beginning of the movie was confusing as there were no visible subtitles for the Korean dialogue happening onscreen. It wasn't until the actors started speaking in English that Korean (I think) subtitles appeared.

LIVING PONO WITH JASON SCOTT LEE [Work in Progress]
Rick Bacigalupi 2008 | Green Screen
I had read about Jason Scott Lee's life in Volcano and was very interested to learn more. Lee told his story and was balanced in his presentation of his life off the grid and his passion in practicing a life style according to indigenous ways and helping to educate others in order to heal the environment and to preserve a measure of Hawaiian culture.

CHIEF
Brett Wagner 2008 | American Immigrant Filmmakers On Profile
I enjoyed this short and felt that the cast & crew did an admirable job telling a poignant story, but not without humor. It was fun to see O'ahu from a different point of view. For such a short film they did a great job developing the characters.
