1448, Joseon Dynasty – The Ming Dynasty's meddling into Joseon's domestic affairs goes to extremes, as King Sejeong secretly plans to develop the "Singijeon" (the divine weapon), a super-weapon of insurmountable power. The Ming quickly dispatch assassins to attack the secret construction facility, and in turn, Choi Hae-san, the inventor, sacrifices himself and blows up the site.
