Bob Marley, one of the iconic figures of contemporary culture, recorded his most significant album, Exodus, in 1977. The album, which Time magazine voted Album of the Century, finally broke reggae music into the mainstream and the message of Rastafarianism to the rest of the world. Produced by the BBC and Island Records' Chris Blackwell, the tumultuous world events of 1977 are also portrayed through Bob Marley's songs and fascinating BBC archive footage. Today Bob Marley and his music have become synonymous with the struggle for freedom and resistance to oppression across the globe.
